For a long time, the traditional estate was owned by the Teutonic Order. Various other owners, including the Free Imperial City of Heilbronn, managed the estate with about 250 hectares of agricultural land. In the 19th century, after the Baron von Waechter took possession, the castle, which still exists today, was built in the neo-Renaissance style, embedded in an English landscape garden with old trees.

The estate is situated in a very rural location close to the town of Oedheim. Shopping facilities, schools and doctors are in the immediate vicinity.
